Welcome to my academic website! I am Güven Soner, a researcher with a PhD in Public Health Nursing and affiliated with the Department of Public Health Nursing at Ondokuz Mayıs University. My research focuses on underserved and marginalized populations, healthcare experiences, nursing education, and the development of more accessible, equitable, and person-centered healthcare systems.
My scholarly work explores how individuals experience healthcare and how nursing education can better respond to diverse needs and social realities. Recent research has examined topics such as the meaning of silence in healthcare for persons with visual impairments, nursing students’ use of silence in clinical practice, healthcare experiences and expectations of atheists, deists, and agnostics in Türkiye, LGBTI+ persons’ experiences within the healthcare system, and disability-friendly approaches in nursing education. My work also investigates nursing students’ perspectives on disability through campus accessibility evaluation and the development of caring communities through innovative educational and social initiatives.
My publications have appeared in journals including Nurse Education Today, Nurse Leader, Nursing & Health Sciences, Issues in Mental Health Nursing, Journal of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, and BMC Nursing. Through my research, I aim to contribute to more inclusive healthcare practices and transformative nursing education. I welcome opportunities for collaboration, interdisciplinary dialogue, and academic exchange.
